In the modern day business arena, it is widely recognized that a gender-balanced corporate hierarchy is a key driver of commercial success, economic growth, and societal advancement.

With related trends in developed and developing nations progressing in the right direction, women’s positive influence as public and private sector leaders is growing at an encouraging pace.

This growth in leadership and positive influence is being amplified by proactive, government-level equity policies, the result of which is a tangible increase in women’s professional development options – options that extend far beyond the historic boundaries of the once impenetrable glass ceiling.

Amplification of opportunity, coupled with the adoption of workplace gender equity as the widely accepted norm, has done much to generate demand for programs of learning that can practically advance women’s business understanding and elevate their professional standing.

Building for Success

The Stern at NYUAD One-year Full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program offers women with an active interest in leadership and business access to educational excellence, and a way to secure the knowledge and business skills required to navigate the complex landscape of the modern corporate world.

Designed to have a transformational effect, all students are prepared and empowered to create a positive impact, and to become ethical, logical, and universally effective leaders that can support companies, organizations, and not-for-profit entities of every scope and scale.

Empowering Futures – MBA in the UAE

The United Arab Emirates is a globally progressive nation that has long recognized the vital role that women play in both private and public sector leadership positions.

The UAE is also a hub for world class third-level education, with Emirati women, in particular, actively encouraged and supported to develop and advance their practical and leadership skills.

The Stern at NYUAD One-year Full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program offers the women of the Emirates, and those of the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and beyond, unique access to a robust curriculum, practical experiential learning, and a worldwide professional outlook.

This MBA also equips early-career professionals to lead and fulfill a rising demand for high-caliber, business graduate talent in the region’s fast-growing economies.

UAE – A Leading Nation for Gender Balance

A clear demonstration of the United Arab Emirates’s positive position in relation to educational and professional gender balance is the nation’s official ranking as seventh best nation on the Gender Inequality Index 2024, as reported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in March 2024.

The United Nations Development Programme announced this new global achievement of the UAE during the meetings of the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, being held in March 2024 in New York. The UAE Gender Balance Council participated in the event.

At the event, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council (UAE GBC), wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, attributed the UAE’s global position in the field of gender balance to the wise leadership’s vision, and the continuous support extended by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, (mother of the nation), chairperson of the General Women’s Union (GWU), president of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).

Pedro Conceição, Director of the Human Development Report Office at the United Nations Development Programme, also noted that the UAE is an inspiring global model for gender balance at the same event.
