Changing Status after Enrollment

Stern at NYUAD does not permit students to transfer to the Full-time program after enrollment in the Executive MBA program. Please carefully consider which program is best suited to your goals prior to applying.

Change of Contact Information

The Admissions Committee communicates with applicants primarily through email. It is the applicant’s responsibility to update Stern at NYUAD immediately with a new email address. Changes to your email should be made on the application status page. Failure to update your email may result in you missing key information, which could jeopardize your admission and/or place in the class.

Stern at NYUAD is not responsible for any technological issues (including email filters, etc.) that prevent applicants from receiving our communications.

Deferred Admission/Leave of Absence

Stern at NYUAD does not grant admission deferrals. If you are admitted and decide not to enroll, you may re-apply for a future term. In rare cases, Stern at NYUAD may admit applicants early to a subsequent term. Leaves of absence are not granted to students who find that they cannot begin the program in the semester for which they were admitted or who cannot successfully complete one course in that first semester (obtaining a grade of C+ or better). All other Academic Affairs and Advising Policies apply.

Enrollment Deposit

After admission, a non-refundable enrollment deposit is required to secure your place in the Stern at NYUAD Executive MBA program. Enrollment deposits will not be refunded for any reason. Enrollment deposits are applied towards your tuition as an EMBA student in the program.

Final Decisions

The Admissions Committee reserves the right to release a decision at any time during the application process. All admissions decisions are final.

NYU + EMBA Standardized Test Waiver

Applicants who have an undergraduate and/or graduate degree from New York University (including NYU Shanghai and NYU Abu Dhabi) with a final cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher, will not be required to submit a standardized test score when applying to the Stern at NYUAD Executive MBA program.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration, interested applicants must:

  • Have an undergraduate and/or graduate degree conferred by New York University.
  • Have earned a final cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher at the time of degree conferral.

Application Details

Applicants should apply for the term in which they would like to be considered.

Applicants who are applying prior to the completion of their undergraduate degree must have earned the required GPA at the time of application to be eligible for the NYU + EMBA. Applicants must maintain the required minimum GPA through the completion of their undergraduate degree.

The final cumulative GPA must meet the minimum requirement without rounding up.

To be considered for admission through the NYU + EMBA program, navigate to the Program Information page in your Stern at NYUAD Executive MBA application, and check off the box under statements of interest that indicates the following: I hold an undergraduate degree from New York University with a final cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher and am eligible to apply under the NYU + EMBA application process. I have reviewed the eligibility requirements on the website.

If you check this box and meet the eligibility criteria, the Admissions Committee will waive the standardized test requirement for your application. If the Admissions Committee determines you do not meet the eligibility requirements to waive the standardized test requirement, your application will be considered incomplete until a test score is provided.

If you have standardized test scores, we encourage you to submit your test scores if it aids your candidacy.

Official Transcripts for Enrolling Students

Admitted students are required to provide an official record of all academic transcripts and proof of their degree conferral(s) prior to enrollment. Failure to provide official transcripts and proof of degree conferral(s) by the deadline given will result in your admission offer expiring.

Signature

The Stern at NYUAD community believes that honesty and integrity are qualities necessary for rewarding academic and professional experiences. These qualities form the basis for the strong trust among all members of the academic community, which is essential for excellence in education. Your signature on your application indicates your agreement to the terms of the application and to the spirit of the Stern at NYUAD Code of Conduct. By submitting your application and any supporting materials, you attest that all information submitted is the product of your own work, factually true, and honestly represented, and that your recommendations have been written by your recommenders.

Stern at NYUAD reserves the right to take any and all reasonable steps to verify the accuracy of all information you have provided, including but not limited to validating the accuracy of submitted application information with appropriate sources. You attest that you will notify Stern at NYUAD immediately should there be any change to the information requested in this application. Stern at NYUAD reserves the right to take disciplinary action, including but not limited to revocation of admission, expulsion, or revocation of course credit, grades, and degree, should we learn that any of the information you have certified is false or that you have engaged in behavior showing a serious lack of judgment or integrity prior to or after admission. If your admission is revoked, you will not be eligible to re-apply to Stern at NYUAD programs. Any items submitted to Stern at NYUAD in conjunction with this application become the sole property of Stern at NYUAD and will not be returned, duplicated, or transferred.

Standardized Test Waiver

All applicants to the Stern at NYUAD Executive MBA program are required to submit a standardized test with their application. To request a standardized test waiver, applicants will be asked to submit the request form and upload the required documents. The Admissions Committee will consider requests for a standardized test waiver on a case-by-case basis. Those who provide strong examples of academic readiness (e.g. strong analytical or quantitative undergraduate or graduate majors, professional work experience) may be more likely to receive a standardized test waiver. For more information and to submit a request, please refer to our standardized test page

Visa Information and UAE Security Clearance

Abu Dhabi: All admitted students must receive a UAE security clearance (regardless of citizenship/residency status), and obtain an appropriate UAE visa if required by your residency status. Students are responsible for determining which visas they need to attend classes in Abu Dhabi once a month as well as for the residential sessions. Students needing a UAE visa through Stern at NYUAD should contact the Programs, Advising and Student Experience (PASE) team for guidance.

Please note that students opting to receive a NYUAD-issued visa may be required to be in the UAE for up to 4-5 weeks while the visa is being processed. During this period, travel in and out of the UAE is not possible.

Admission to the Stern at NYUAD Executive MBA program is contingent on being granted UAE security clearance and, if applicable, obtaining a UAE student visa.

New York City Residency: NYU sponsors non-US citizen or permanent resident students for F-1 student status. The F-1 status is the most common type of status used to study in the United States. F-1 status is for Stern at NYUAD academic students who are pursuing a degree or certificate and will only last for the duration of the in-class module or session. Please note that the visa will not be valid for the entire year.

The NYU Office of Global Services (OGS), in partnership with the Stern at NYUAD EMBA program managers, can help determine if students will need an F-1 visa for the residency in New York City and if so, will help them through the I-20 process for these modules.

Please note that, if applicable, students are responsible for the costs incurred for their visas throughout their tenure as students.

Shanghai Residency: Students are responsible for determining which visas they need to attend classes for the residential session in Shanghai. Students needing a Chinese visa through Stern at NYUAD should contact the Programs, Advising, and Student Experience (PASE) team for guidance.

Program Policies

Mandatory Executive MBA Orientation and Residency

Attendance in person is required at the Executive MBA orientation and week-long residencies. See the current program calendar for details. Note these are subject to change.

Once enrolled, you will receive detailed information about orientation and the residencies from the Programs, Advising, and Student Experience (PASE) team. Programming during orientation and residencies takes place all day and happens in real-time, so please ensure you obtain necessary time off from work to complete the entire residency. Remote access is not available.

Maximum Time Allowance

Students must complete the degree within six years of initial enrollment in the program. This includes any leaves of absences that a student may need to take during the course of the program. Students who do not complete the program in this timeframe will be unable to continue in the program and any credits earned will no longer be eligible towards the degree. Should a student wish to study towards the degree again at any point after six years, they will be required to reapply for admission and any credits earned previously will need to be retaken.

Transferring Credits

There will be no opportunities for transfer credits or advanced standing in the Stern at NYUAD Executive MBA program.
