Funding Sources

Beyond merit scholarships, most students draw on more than one source to cover tuition and living costs. A few starting points:

Personal Funds
Many students fund their MBA through personal savings or income.

Company Sponsorship
Many employers co-fund an MBA in exchange for a return-of-service commitment.

Student Loans
Domestic and international private loan options are available. NYU does not co-sign or sponsor loans and does not endorse any specific lender.

External Scholarships
Independent programs such as the Prodigy Finance Scholarship and resources listed by IEFA are worth exploring alongside Stern at NYUAD’s own awards.

EducationUSA
International students can also reach EducationUSA, a U.S. Department of State network of more than 430 advising centers across 175+ countries, for independent financial guidance.

Private Lenders
Private lenders previously used by Stern at NYUAD MBA students: Avanse Financial Services (Indian nationals)
College Ave,
Prodigy,
Sallie Mae,
SoFi.

You are not required to borrow from any lender listed here, and there is no penalty for choosing a different one. NYU does not prefer, recommend, or endorse any lender, and loan programs are subject to change at any time.

Preparing a Budget

When preparing a budget, it is useful to consider two factors: expense amounts (how much to pay) and timing (when to pay). Contact the Stern at NYUAD MBA Admissions office if you would like help creating your own budget.

Students can request a payment plan from the bursar’s office to spread each semester’s balance over three installments:
