Faculty Affairs seeks to attract, develop, support and retain world class scholars and educators dedicated to business research and pedagogical excellence. The office manages recruitment, appointments, promotions, and professional development of faculty and research scientists from onboarding to retirement. It oversees faculty review processes, including tenure, and ensures compliance with academic policies. It also works with NYUAD Research office to facilitate research support and funding opportunities, with Stern at NYUAD’s PASE and Executive Education teams to ensure world-class business programming across various levels, with Stern at NYUAD’s career team to support student labor market integration, and with other units at NYUAD and in the NYU network to advance faculty research and teaching.

Jeff Timmons is Vice Dean of Faculty and Associate Professor of Management. His research in political economy—business and politics, public finance, and economic development—has appeared in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, and Cambridge University Press, among other places. An award- winning instructor, he teaches courses in business, politics and society, global strategy, and international politics. Before graduate school, he worked as a journalist in Venezuela. In addition to the UAE and Venezuela, Jeffrey has lived in the United States, Mexico, the UK, Brazil, and Spain.
